Gary Rodin – MD, FRCPC

Gary Rodin is the Joint University of Toronto/University Health Network Harold and Shirley Lederman Chair in Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care and is Head of the Department of Supportive Care at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, part of the University Health Network, in Toronto.

Chris Lo – MA, PhD


Chris Lo is an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry with a background in social psychology, working in the Department of Supportive Care at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto.

Anne Rydall – BSc, MSc.


Anne graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology (Specialist) and Biology (Major).

Tania Panday – BSc.


Tania is a clinical research coordinator in the Department of Supportive Care at the Princess Margaret Cancer Center, University Health Network, in Toronto, Canada.

Cheryl Kanter – MSW, RSW. 


Cheryl is an Oncology Social Worker in the Department of Supportive Care at the Princess Margaret Cancer Center in Toronto, Ontario.

Carmine Malfitano – MSW, RSW.


Carmine Malfitano graduated from the University of Milan with a specialty in Neuroscience and worked as a psychometrist in a local hospital with aphasia and dementia patients.

Kelly McGuigan


Kelly is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in palliative care at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

Patricia Murphy-Kane – RN, BA, BScN, MN, CHPCNC.


Patricia is a clinical nurse specialist in palliative care at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

Katrina MacAlpine – B.Sc., M.Sc.


Katrina joined the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in 2006 as a Clinical Study Coordinator with the Robert & Maggie Bras and Family New Drug Development Program (DDP).

Sarah Hales – MD, PhD, FRCPC


Sarah Hales is a psychiatrist and co-lead for the Division of Psychosocial Oncology in the Department of Supportive Care at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto.

Rinat Nissim – PhD


Rinat Nissim is a Psychologist and Researcher in the Department of Supportive Care at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto.

Aubrey Chiu – M.Sc.


Aubrey is a clinical research coordinator at the University Health Network and has been a member of Dr. Rodin’s research team since 2009.

Valerie Heller – BSW, MSW, RSW.



Valerie is a social worker at the Princess Margaret Cancer Center and has worked here for the past 15 years.

Jenny Shaheed – MSW, RSW. 


Jenny initially started her career working with At-Risk Youth in the shelters of downtown Toronto and works currently at Princess Margaret Hospital as an Inpatient Hematology Social Worker.

Joanna Shnall – MSW, RSW.


Joanna Shnall graduated from the University of Toronto’s Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work with her MSW and joined the CALM team in 2014.

Maurene McQuestion – RN, BScN, MSc, CON(C).


Maurene McQuestion is a Clinical Nurse Specialist/Advanced Practice Nurse (CNS/APN) in the Head & Neck Cancer Site Group and Radiation Medicine Programme at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto.

Amy Deckert – PhD.


Amy is pursuing a postdoctoral research fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Gary Rodin through the Global Institute of Psychosocial, Palliative & End-of-Life Care.
